It has been 50 years since Dr Martens were introduced into our lives. These tough look, hardworking work boots have adorned the hip and young. They have been a favourite for Agyness Deyn in the past and we at IL2L are excited about this momentous ocassion.

Dr Martens were the creation of Klaus Martens in Germany but were manufactured in Northampton, UK in 1960. They later embraced fashion a little more and were adopted by punks and skinheads. These were matched with jeans and leather biker jackets.

The Northampton Museum and Art Gallery will be holding a special exhibition to commemorate the 50th Anniversary. This exhibition is a must for all you fashion enthusiasts out there!
